2020 Convention Update ~ COVIC-19 (5/1/2020)
Dear RCA Family,
With a full basket of Love, Gratitude, Disappointment, Sadness and Hope, we wanted to let you know that the RCA 2020 Annual Convention is cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regarding potential virtual Annual Business Meeting and/or virtual retreat, please check future update on RCA website and/or from the contact couples of your local groups.

We are in the process of issuing the full refund of your registration fee. If you paid by PayPal, you will receive a direct refund in the original PayPal account that you submitted the payment with. If you paid by check, we will send a check to your mailing address this month. If you have any request for us to process your refund differently, please contact sunnyho66@gmail.com / 1-703-7325899 before Sunday, 5/10/2020.

Please note that any flights, train, rental cars and hotel reservations that you made will need to be canceled by calling the company.

For hotel room cancellations at the Reston Sheraton, please contact the hotel directly either online or by calling 703 620 9000. The Reston Sheraton’s cancellation policy is 100% refund if canceled 72-hours in advance (assuming that you made the reservation with the RCA group discount). Although it is three month from now, we suggest you take action ASAP :)

One of the goals for the annual convention was to generate additional funding for RCA’s World Service Organization. If you want to make a donation to the RCA WSO, please do so at:

At last but not the least, plans are underway for the 2021 Convention “Love Blooms in the Desert”, which will be held in Tucson, Arizona on July 30th to Aug 1st - more details to follow soon!

Dear All,
We wanted to give you an update on the 2020 Convention in light of the recent developments concerning the Covid-19 virus.
Needless to say, we follow the Serenity Prayer and will make sure that we adhere to the First Tradition as a guiding principle; ensuring that Our Common Welfare Comes First.
Currently, we are monitoring the public health & safety recommendations here in Virginia and nationally, as well as engaging in an ongoing dialogue with the hotel venue.
Given that the convention is 5-months away, we are continuing to plan and work under the assumption that the Convention will continue as advertised. We will keep the RCA community advised over the coming weeks should it be necessary to change this plan. All important updates will be distributed via email and posted on this website.
We understand that some of you may need to change your plans and, as such, wanted to outline our current registration cancellation policy:
Registration cancellations prior to 7/27/2020, are 100% refundable if you paid by check. If you paid online using Paypal, and cancel prior to 7/27/2020, we will directly refund your registration less a deduction of the Paypal service charge, which is $6.00 - $12.00 depending on which country you registered from, and the time of your registration.
Due to the requirement to pre-pay the hotel venue for lunch & dinner, cancellation between 7/28/2020 and 8/5/2020 (via check or Paypal) will receive a 50% refund (minus original PayPal transaction fee if applicable). Cancellations after 8/6/2020 (Convention weekend) are not refundable.

The 2020 Convention Committee has put a tremendous amount of work and effort into this year’s plans so far, and we hope to see you all in August!! In the meantime, we will continue to practise the Serenity Prayer and the 3rd Step, and let life unfold as it needs to.
